I would argue that, whilst $50 is not a crazily cheap price to pay for a knife set, you can get many blocks for much less - and this is where the problem is.

Sure, not everyone can afford $600 on 9 Henckel knives (I can’t!), but you should look to find a deal that suits your utility and price - spend what you can to get a good, reliable set of kitchen knives.
