Kitchen Knives - Pride of Place in a Kitchen?

There’s a recent article over here that talks about what you need to buy/pack when moving home or into a new kitchen. There is a slew of listings, and then this small line that pops in at the end of the article:

A good knife set is the last thing you will need pack for your new kitchen

Whilst the point is valid, it should be much higher on the list! Whilst a tin opener is good for the less cooking-inclined amongst us, a good knife set must surely take priority?
